Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

4 on the trails. If I get injured running someday, I'll bet it's from one of those instinctive cut backs, borderline gravity defying moves I make, when seeing a snake, but before it registers that the snake is non-poisonous, that would make Barry Sanders proud.

1 on the trails. 5.5 miles hood route. 1 on the trails.

So, when I was out running, my dad was out walking. I see him sometimes out there, but not today. He was doing a route around the baseball fields at wellfield park. The senior men's softball team was having practice. They called my dad over and asked him if he wanted to play next season. They said that there was only one week left in this season, but he could get on board for next season. They said that they have seen him out walking before, that he seems to be in good shape, and obviously likes baseball. My dad was beaming when he told me this story. He's 81. I asked him when he wanted me to pitch to him in the cages.

That feeling when you're a kid, and you're watching some other kids play something, and then they invite you to join? That never stops being an awesome feeling.
