Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

10 miles @ Carlton Preserve with the "cool kids" from Sarasota (6 boys, 1 girl). 6 am start. They came down to Venice, so I HAD to go. First Trail Run. First Run with a Headlamp. One of my first group runs. The first half of the route was single track, dodging Cabbage Palms, hopping Saw Palmetto roots, up and dwn short hills, and wound all over the place. The second half of the run was on tire tracks through grass. I was @ 30 yards behind the group on the more technical part of the run, but was able to get up front in the second half. What a great sunrise! I can see the allure of trail running. It works a unique set of muscles. My legs are already feeling it. I don't know what I'll be running tomorrow.

Then Tommy's baseball game. I better think of something quick for Mother's Day!
