Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

4.6 miles. Ringling Bridge. 36:24. 7:55 pace. 5:45 pm start. 88 deg. 65% hum. 74 d.p. "Feels Like" 97. And that's not the worst part! It was super low tide. That smell of seaweed / dead fish / pelican waste cooking in the sun is pretty rough. SBVD was taking it easy today. Even he wasn't going to push it in this mess. Proud to beat the 8 minute man today.

Beating the 8 minute guy on a day like that is pretty impressive. The smell alone would've had me!

Mmm, steamy pelican poop. Don't think I would've even attempted a run, nice going.

I can't stand SBVD..... such a punk wearing that visor backwards.

From Tom K on Thu, Jun 26, 2014 at 08:17:39 from 174.58.4.250

He is a punk, isn't he? He only had one of his toadies with him yesterday.

In his defense, he DID wave and say Hi (and then his minion waved right after him). So there's that.

It is getting to the point that I need to run without a shirt. One reason I continue to run with a shirt is that I don't want anyone to confuse me for one of his flunkies. (Also, I am self-conscious about an oddly shaped birthmark that covers my entire belly.)

From Derunzo on Thu, Jun 26, 2014 at 13:09:07 from 173.9.52.242

Running without a shirt feels great, although I feel self conscious as well. But when my nips get raw, I get naked. Crying in the shower from bloody nips is a nightmare.
