March 17- St. Patty's Day 8k Out of town soccer tournament. It's back on, and I'll be racing both of my sons! 32:56, (6:38 pace)

May 12 - Brookings SD Marathon 3:27:37 (7:56 pace)

October 7 - Towpath Marathon, Boston, OH 3:46:02 (8:48 pace)

One Tempo Run, One Interval Workout, and One Long Run per week. 50-60 mpw. The world's most simple training plan. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 11, and 13.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

6 am. 3.5 miles hood route.

6 pm. 8.8 miles with boy #2 on his bike, while boy #1 was at the season's first soccer practice. This was (3) 1.1 mile trail loops, plus one 5.5 mile run from hood route, down edmonson, over I-75 to jacaranda and back.

3.5 miles hood. Yeah, I know it's Tempo Tuesday, and I chickened out of going fast again. In my defense, this morning felt a bit peppy-er than normal, and yesterday's run with Boy #2 was also quick in spots (as per usual, chasing a kid on a bike), and I may or may not run later fast. 

Even still, I chickened out. 

Also, I'm at work now. I just got word that the guy in the cubicle next to me's daughter is in the I.C.U. As a father, the thought of this is painful. My heart breaks for him and his family.

Interval Thursday. The anti-track-quarter-mile-repeats 0.75 up. (8) x 0.25 fast, 0.25 slow. 0.75 down. Fast stuff all in 11:54. 

Pm 5.5 miles on legacy trail following boy #2 on his bike. Slow.

7.5 miles. Hood route 6 a.m. start. Then took the family to the keys for the weekend. Did some snorkeling at Bahia Honda. The keys got pretty beat up during the hurricane

Day 2 in the keys. 9:30 am start. On the drive down to key west, the family kicked me out near mile 68. Then they went and got breakfast and i ran. I got 5 miles in running south. The run ended with a 2.3 mile bridge. I've got to say, this was a really cool run. Running that long over water is kind of a new one. Day ended with more snorkeling in key west, and a long, slow, haul back to key largo.
