Gasparilla 15k Tampa AAARGH you ready to run? - 2/22/20. Don't put up an ugly time.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 13, and 14.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

3.5 miles. Hood Route. 70 deg. 100% hum. Rough one. I was wondering why I felt so bad the last 2 runs, and then I remembered, I gave blood Wednesday. I have finally come to the conclusion that I can't be a blood donor and a runner. It's just too taxing.

Oh yeah, Both boys are sick. Throwing up and at the other end. Good times.

5:30 pm: 5.2 miles. Ringling Bridge. 39:44. 7:38 pace. 77 deg. 87% hum. 72 d.p. Summer already? okay. I'm still not all the way back, but I have to get these bridge runs in while I can.

16 miles with the cool kids in Sarasota. 6 am start. low 50's and breezy. The wind kind of picked up on the way back. We are in between soccer seasons at the moment, so I had a chance to go up to Sarasota this morning. This run was rough. A couple of the guys are in their Boston build up, so they set out to go 18. I told them I didn't think I was ready for 18, thought I was pulling out of the group to finish with 12, went home and used mapmyrun to figure out that I ran 16. Seriously, I may have to invest in one of those watches.

Great run (if you do not consider the effort at the end) - Start at Marina Jacks, over Ringling Bridge out to St. Armand's, to the South tip of Lido Key, over the bridge onto Longboat Key, around the Longboat Key Golf Club, back over the bridge past Mote Marine, to the end of City Island, back through St. Armand's, back over Ringling Bridge to Marina Jacks.

This run is making me re-think racing next weekend. It's my favorite local race, but, man, I'm beat.
