Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

12.9 miles. Legacy Trail to Venice Avenue and back. 6:30 am start. 12.9 miles. 1:42:34. 7:57 pace 6:57 last mile. 50 degrees. 87% hum. 46 d.p. Spouse got me new shorts, shirt, and socks for Valentine's Day. This was the test run. I like 'em. Dona Bay and Roberts Bay were "steaming" as I ran across them. Low tide, oyster bars, Crazy stuff! Best run I've had in a while.

10.2 miles Legacy Trail to Colonia and back. 5:30 am start. 1:22:07. 8:03 pace. 54 deg. 82% hum. 48 d.p. Very smooth and easy. These Tuesday runs are brutal to get going, but I am starting to see the benefits.

BTW, The night job would like to do a article about me for the company newsletter. My co-worker wrote into the main office and said some flattering stuff. I am a bit uneasy about this. They want me to sign a release that would allow them to use my running story wherever (and whenever) they choose. It's not like I'm an elite runner that is trying to control his "brand," or anything. But this feels a little weird. Obviously, I am proud enough of my running accomplishments to write them here everyday. What would you do?

5.8 Miles. Ringling Bridge. 41:08. 7:05 pace. 5:30 pm start. 72 deg. 68% hum. 61 D.P. It really didn't feel that fast. I saw Jury Duty Buddy. He said the guy that was on trial (where we met) was found guilty.

He wants to run with me sometime. I don't know, man. I don't think I could keep up with that guy or his dog.

oh yeah, I had this song stuck in my head for the whole run. "Malagueña Salerosa" by Chingon http://youtu.be/cby_ItzK6JY

If you are going to have a song stuck in your head, it might as well be one where you don't know or understand the words!
