Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

5.5 miles. Hood Route. Daylight savings- 6/7 am start. Finally loosened up by mile 3. Yesterday beat me up, but I may still race next weekend.

https://goteambravery.wordpress.com/ They are going to push a truck for 26.2 miles. I was originally one of the five guys pushing, but then they changed the date, and I had a conflict at church, so I had to drop out. Just as well, it works out that I start the new jerb the following day. That might have been an ugly first day! They are shooting for less than 9 hours. I think they can do it in less than 6.

I'm trying to get some press coverage of the event on ESPN "the Ocho" and in OSQ magazine.

Sorry you won't get to push a truck for 5-9 hours straight. The 8k sounds good though!

Just signed up. My first and last YMCA race as a YMCA employee. Maybe this year the announcer will get my name right. Not likely.

They just added a facebook event page.

Which outfit are you wearing for the race?

It's a St. Patty's Day race! Why do I have to dress like one of the village people? I was just going to wear something green.

Okay, the Indian is ruled out for the head feathers, obviously. Biker dude - I ain't running in leather. Construction worker - the loaded tool belt could cause injuries. Serious injuries. That leaves Cowboy, Cop soldier.

Wait, why am I considering this?

From SlowJoe on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 07:46:08 from 12.182.148.249

Y-M-C-A! It's fun to stay at the YMCA!

From Tom K on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 07:52:51 from 73.27.178.76

Ahhhhhhh. I'm an idiot. I never sang that song once, the entire time I worked there. Huh.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 07:58:44 from 12.182.148.249

Me and Derunzo are just SuperFans of the village people so we made the connection right away.

From Tom K on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 08:01:21 from 73.27.178.76

I don't know who should be more embarrassed here.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 08:03:33 from 12.182.148.249

Clearly YOU, for not showing up at the Village People dress-up party we had last year. LAME! Derunzo was the biker guy.

From Tom K on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 08:23:40 from 73.27.178.76

And you were.....?

"Dress up Party"! You're killing me!

From Derunzo on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 08:37:22 from 173.9.52.242

I was the biker guy in Assless chaps.

From Tom K on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 09:35:19 from 73.27.178.76

yeah,

I'm going to wear something green.

Although, both of you guys are faster than me, AND both of you guys are Village People fans. Coincidence? Perhaps not. It's a shame the V.P. don't have a Janitor in the group.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Mar 10, 2015 at 17:31:30 from 104.51.208.13

If they did, I'm pretty sure he'd have green assless chaps. Take it or leave it...
