Short-Term Running Goals:

2024 GOALS:

to not get fat

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

I'm not sure how to rate miles as "fast" or "slow." So, for now, I'm going with: Anything faster than 7:15 pace is "fast." Anything slower than 7:15 pace is "slow."  Since 7:15 is what I hope my next marathon pace will be.

I would have been faster had it not been for auto traffic, and an unaware text-er.

(Keep telling yourself: It's just a training run. It's just a training run. It's just a training run.)

Great sunset. I see the up-side of daylight savings right now.

Hi again Tom,

I came over to visit and noticed you have no friends :-( Can I be your freind? Oh, and I might come and visit you since you live in Florida :-)

Looks like you've made some great strides in your running cutting an hour off your marathon time. You'll be breaking the 3:00 mark soon I'm sure.

Hope you enjoy the blog...and nice running!

Friends? Is that like Favorite Blogs? Sounds good. I just have to figure out how, exactly, to do that.

It sounds like we started running about the same time. I've been running for about 2.5 years. 1st training run Was Feb. 28, 2010.

Thanks for the kind words about the running improvements. Sub 3? Man, I just don't know about that one. Is that what my next goal should be? Wow, you folks are demanding! I've only been here a week, and you're already nagging me! (typed in sarcasm font).

Friends, favorite blogs...yes :-)

We did start running about the same time but you have made much bigger improvements than me. I'm hoping that's because I'm MUCH older than you :-)

You should check out a few of my favorites blogs. several of them are in the pursuit of the 2:?? marathon. I just like to hang around the fast guys and dream! BTW...hope you have "thick skin" :-)

I worry that my improvements have more to do with wise course selection, than they do with my increased running capabilities. If you ran a race with a 900' elevation drop, you would rip it, too.
