Short-Term Running Goals:

2023 GOALS:

Coastal Delaware Running Festival Marathon - 4/16/23 - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

6 a.m. 1 hour 45 minute bike ride. Really misty but not quite foggy out there.

3 pm: the beach. The water was a bit cold, but we got up to 87 degrees today. The boys were already skimboarding for an hour and a half before i showed up. Then to the pool to rinse off the sand. I only got to pool run for 10 minutes before we left. Beautiful day.

Those bike rides are getting longer and longer. Nice

You might become the only runner ever to be in better shape after an injury than before. Seriously impressed on the x-training ("cross training" for the layperson).

You are the pool running guru. I know you've been biking and pool running a lot for a few weeks now, but somehow I missed what got injured???

Joe, I ate way too much on Easter. I'm trying to stay in shape but yesterday was a big step backwards.

Rhett, in Feb. I started getting a sharp pain on the inside of my left shin. It didn't feel muscular, and i was convinced i had a stress fracture. I went to the doc, got the xray and the MRI. The doc called me back and said he didnt see anything. What I heard was quit being a wimp and run more/ harder.i did that for about 2-3 weeks, and then couldn't go anymore. I called the doc, and - long story shorter - he told me i could stop running for 6 weeks, or wear a boot, and stop running for 3 weeks. I took the boot. I'm back to running this saturday. Hopefully, i can still salvage a decent race in may.
