Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 17, and 18.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

3.5 miles. 6 am start. Slow but good form. Very nice Sunrise over steaming lakes. 45 deg., 52% hum., 43 d.p. 1st run back from the plague. Sore throat remains, but I can live with it. We fly out a week from today. Everything is fine. everything is fine. everything is fine.

Much more taper than I intended! Goal time is really sketchy for me. If you asked me in November, I would have said 3:09. But then I lost almost all of December, with an Achilles problem. Then I got fat. Then I realized that this race has more hills than I originally thought. Then I lost ALL of the weight this week, when we got the flu. Then,...I have no idea anymore.

Say, you look primed to race well the following weekend. Let's talk about that!

Man that bites. You worked through the injury and then got the flu. My last 2 marathons I had the flu the week before. I'm taking extra vitamins and staying as far away from sick people this time around so hopefully it won't happen a third time.

Could still be good! Quick weight loss plan. I could use a little stomach bug after vacation eating for a week.
