Short-Term Running Goals:

2018 GOALS:

March 17- St. Patty's Day 8k Out of town soccer tournament. It's back on, and I'll be racing both of my sons! 32:56, (6:38 pace)

May 12 - Brookings SD Marathon 3:27:37 (7:56 pace)

October 7 - Towpath Marathon, Boston, OH 3:46:02 (8:48 pace)

One Tempo Run, One Interval Workout, and One Long Run per week. 50-60 mpw. The world's most simple training plan.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Continue running as often as I can, as far as I can, as fast as I can. Teaching my kids (by example) the rewards that come from putting in the work. Very slowly get to 50 states.

Personal:

I'm married, with two sons, 11, and 13.

I started running because someone dared me to.

I ran my first race 3 days after my 40th birthday. (Disney)

3.5 miles. Hood route. 40 something degrees. 6:15 am start. I tested out running with a headlight this morning, since I plan on headlight running at the track later this week, and have only done this once before, and that was @ 2 years ago. It went fine. But i wonder if there was a benefit to the cold weather. I already had asomething on my head covering my ears. I winder if it would be different if it were warmer outside.

Also, I ran my first race 6 years ago today. A lot of stuff has happened since then, running and otherwise. It's pretty crazy to look back.

Happy anniversary!

I find the headlight stays in place better with the hat, but it still is not too bad in the summer without a hat.

Glad you're still plugging away after 6 years. Best of luck dealing with the arctic temperatures!

Yasir, you tell me where we're going in May, and I'll make it happen. I just figured we could meet Matt S. In SD. He hasn't posted here in a while. I assume he's still there. Point is, I haven't signed up, or booked flights for anything yet. I'd like to race early May. Let's make plans.

Rob, still at it! Thanks for the comment, and your thoughtful posts.

I use a light that cost $1, it isnt much, but does the trick. I will be your way in about 40 days. Training run?
